After starting his career in the Junior team at Clube de Carnaxide in 1999, it took him just two years until his talent was recognized by Sporting Club de Portugal (SCP).
In 2001, João Matos started playing for SCP and that was the beginning of a journey full of successful and learning events.
After four years, in 2005, João Matos got to sign the contract to play for the senior team of SCP, turning a dream into reality.
“It’s been 15 years since João Matos has arrived at Sporting Clube de Portugal and throughout these years, he was able to achieve most of his goals and dreams. From playing at the UEFA Futsal Cup, representing the country for more than 100 games and being team captain for SCP futsal team, João Matos has shared lots of great moments and victories as well as some downfalls. But those downfalls helped him become the athlete that he is today. An athlete that can overcome whatever obstacle that comes in his way.”
